Hasbrouck Heights, NJ, March 16, 2000 - PaperClip Incorporated., announced today a partnership with Digital Document Systems (DDS), London, UK extending the popular Internet Express service to the Euro-market. PaperClip Internet Express (lE), as a unique "Business to Business" (B2B) service providing trading partners, branch offices and field offices the ability to exchange electronic documents and EDI. FiSh, DDS's Integrated Document Management (lDM) solution, connects seamlessly to the IE exchange service. FiSh, PaperClip32 and other IDM solutions import and export Electronic Document eXchange (EDX V2.0) compliant packages, the first open standard for document exchange. For the first time, EDI and imaging may arrive together in one package greatly reducing the cost and time needed to complete the business transaction. With Internet Express, businesses will compress time and gain efficiencies resulting in real hard dollar savings to the bottom line.
Tim Edwards, sales director at DDS, commented, "This system is going to have a major impact on paper-based business everywhere. Document management is already changing sectors such as insurance, brokerage, health and local government, because it offers businesses a way to use new technology to manage their old systems. Using the Internet to facilitate business is becoming more and more widespread, and now IE will offer companies the chance to reduce their document processing costs by up to 75%"
Mike Bridges, President of PaperClip Incorporated, said, "We are fortunate to have a partner committed to IDM, e-commerce and the insurance and financial industries. This is a new era for document management and we feel that IE will expand rapidly across several targeted industries. The positive response we've had from customers and partners to the deployment of IE validates our strategic vision of the Internet, IDM, document exchange and straight through processing.
PaperClip Internet Express is an Internet based electronic document package delivery service. IE utilizes the open standard Electronic Document eXchange V 2.0 for packaging electronic objects (i.e., images, word processing, EDI) with their respective metadata. These EDX packages are then managed by the IE Virtual Private Network and IE Server Software for safe and reliable transport to their ultimate destination. IE provides a versatile "business to business" solution with a dramatic reduction in processing time and cost. PaperClip Internet Express is a unique service making efficient use of the Internet while creating interpretability for Integrated Document Management solutions.
Suzy Tuck, Vice President of Sales for PaperClip Incorporated, said, "The expansion of the Internet Express service to the Euro-market validates the growing demand for e-commerce / B2B solutions. We look forward to working with Future-Dynamics to provide Transatlantic exchange of electronic documents amongst business partners in the insurance and financial industries."
Internet Express is designed around the open standard Electronic Document eXchange version 2.0. The EDX standard was developed over a two-year period from industry partners and associations with a common goal, to exchange all sources of documents with any destination in a secure, efficient, standardized and open manner over the Internet. EDX to date has been adopted by the National Association of Independent Life Brokerage Agencies (NAILBA) Technology Committee and under consideration by several other industry technical standard bodies and committees.
Internet Express' many features include real time tracking of EDX Packages confirming delivery to recipient, metadata packing list for transport and archiving, accounting reports for internal distribution and an IDM Translator. The IDM Translator provides end point translations to specific exchange formats unique to IDM solutions. IDM Translators have been made available for FileNet, DST's Automated Workflow Distributor (AWD), Optika's e-Media, DocuPACT from Intertech, and PaperClip's "Print on Receipt / Demand" solutions.
